Langley, KY. – Infinity Design & Construction is expanding its Kentucky presence into Eastern Kentucky and creating 36 new jobs. The Oldham County-based business is investing $1.75 million in a second location in Floyd County.
Officials say the company’s current fabrication shop in LaGrange, Ky. is operating at full capacity. To sustain and accelerate its growth, it is expanding operations by renovating an existing 43,850-square-foot location in Langley, Ky.
The 11-year-old business provides services such as 3D scanning, 3D design, construction, pipe fabrication, process piping installation, plumbing, and HVAC.
Governor Andy Beshear announced the project in October. The company held a ground-breaking ceremony on October 28 to begin the renovation of the existing facility.
“Infinity is a great example of a company fully committed to serving its community and the commonwealth,” said Gov. Beshear. “Kentucky is experiencing economic development growth because companies like Infinity continue to believe in our workforce and resources. I want to thank the company’s leadership and am excited to see this expansion into Floyd County bring even greater success.”
According to Infinity Executive Keith McKinney, the expansion project is the culmination of several partnerships dedicated to furthering economic development growth in the region.
“Infinity Design & Construction Group has worked closely with LU 248 Business Manager Ben Collier over the past two years, achieving significant success together. We extend our sincere gratitude to Kentucky State Representative Ashley Tackett Laferty and her team, Bob Burgess and Brett Traver with Southeast Kentucky Economic Development (SKED), Colby Kirk with One East Kentucky, Amanda Clark with Kentucky Power, Floyd County Judge Executive Robbie Williams and Kristina Slattery and Brittney Petty with the Department for Business Development at the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, for their unwavering support.”
“Throughout this collaboration, we have been continually impressed by the exceptional work ethic of the Eastern Kentucky workforce. Given the growth in our pipe fabrication segment, expanding into Eastern Kentucky is a natural progression for our team, and we are excited about broadening our operations in this region,” said McKinney. “At the same time, Infinity remains committed to the Louisville market. We recently completed work at the Ford Blue Oval project under Local 502 and are eager to continue growing our presence in the area. We are actively exploring opportunities to expand our footprint in Louisville, including acquiring new properties to support this growth.”
SKED, a regional Community Development Financial Institution based in Somerset, Ky. but serving a 45-county territory, including Floyd, assisted the Infinity Design & Construction owners with a customized funding package to finance the expansion.
A Kentucky Power Kentucky Power Economic Growth Grant (K-PEGG) was used to assist with the downpayment on the purchase of the building.
“Kentucky Power is committed to the region and helping to accelerate economic growth in eastern Kentucky,” said Cindy Wiseman, President and COO. “The K-PEGG program delivers essential resources for attracting new businesses, aiding the growth of existing ones, developing new commercial and industrial real estate, and offering economic development education. Leveraging this program to create jobs in our service area greatly benefits all our customers. We thank Infinity Design Group for their investment in eastern Kentucky.”
SKED’s business loan funds are designed to help fulfill its job recruitment and economic development mission. Executive Director Brett Traver says this project is an economic developer’s dream.
“When you combine the proven success of a veteran business and job-creator with the willing Eastern Kentucky workforce, it creates a compelling win for everyone involved,” Traver said. “But in the end, the people of Floyd County will benefit most from this investment in its land and people.”
