Sharing our Services in 2023

January 10, 2023

SKED News

We are excited to announce our social media campaigns for 2023.

This year, we will promote all three primary SKED services in a way that is informative, creative and, hopefully, life changing for some.

SKED’s services are three-pronged: Lending, Recruitment & Expansion and Training. That’s easy enough to understand. But often, it’s the way we do it, who helps us do it and the results we produce that can get lost in the weeds. For example, our loan clients know us as a nonprofit lender; our training clients know that we provide valuable resources to help them grow their small businesses and our economic development partners know that we can connect them with the workforce and specialized training they need to expand and flourish here in Southeast Kentucky.

So, who are we to you – the average citizen, and what can we offer you? The answer is simple: information they can use to help us ALL make this part of Kentucky a better place to live and work.

Here’s how we plan to do it.

#goodjob

We’re calling the first campaign: #goodjob.

We will feature some of the region’s best employers and the jobs they create monthly on our website. We will produce a story on a manufacturer or service provider. In a simple question-and-answer format, we will allow one of the business’ leaders to share valuable insight into the jobs they create and the training and skillsets required to do them.

The COVID pandemic has been a gut punch to many of our most prolific employers. Finding reliable and fully trained workers has been challenging over the past two years. We want to allow these valuable economic engines to “sell” their company, the value of its workforce and the incentives they offer right here in our backyard.

Here’s the part where we need your help. We plan to share those stories on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. We’re asking you to share them too. With the hashtag #goodjobs trending, we can provide a clearer picture of the occupations available in our region, perhaps, give you and your friends the opportunity to train, apply and get one of those jobs.

#SKEDprotips

The second campaign is less structured and, potentially, more fun.

We’re calling it #SKEDprotips, and it’s exactly like it sounds.

Throughout the year, we will ask our loan and training clients, lending partners, board members, staff and anyone we work with to provide a one-minute video with their best professional tip. We will hear from folks across the spectrum of our economic development ecosystem and – fingers crossed – give you some valuable information you can use and pass on to others.

So keep an eye out for these short video clips of advice across our social media venues in the coming months.

#DefiningSKED

Campaign No. 3 is tried and true.

Our #DefiningSKED promotion of 2022 has been popular, and we plan to keep it going quarterly this year.

We want to help. We are here to assist. And this year, we plan to provide you with the information that tells you how we can.
