SKED Helps Finance New Chiropractic Office in Somerset

April 30, 2024

Dr. Brandon Goodpaster wanted to move his chiropractic practice and young family to a thriving southeastern Kentucky community where they could flourish, contribute and – together – succeed in business and life. He found that in Somerset, Ky.

Goodpaster is opening ProActive Spine Care in Grand Central Place on May 6.

Dr. Brandon Goodpaster

A Morehead, Ky. native, Goodpaster spent time in larger cities during medical school and later in a partner practice in Bowling Green, Ky. He’d acquired the training and five years of experience he needed and was ready to branch out on his own, so when it came time to give his three-year-old daughter roots in a community where she could grow, he was ready to return closer to home.

“Somerset is the perfect community. We are away from the extreme hustle and bustle of living in a larger city but also have access to everything we want and need here,” Goodpaster said. “It’s a perfect place to raise a family. It has great school systems with quality academics and competitive sports teams, loyal community support and plenty of recreation to go with it.”

And his business? He brings his “A” game to the office every day, giving his patients top-notch chiropractic care and the specialized care they need to lead pain-free lives.

He describes his practice as “very well-rounded.” Services include all types of chiropractic care, pediatric care, athletic care, auto-injury care, wellness care, spinal decompression care and more.

“I have dealt with many individuals from many different walks of life. I think the main thing to concentrate on as a healthcare provider is that everyone is different and needs a treatment plan based on their specific needs,” Goodpaster said. “Everyone has been through different trials and tribulations, worked different jobs, participated in different activities and experienced different injuries throughout life.”

His patients range from newborn babies to 90-year-old, athletes to musicians, blue-collar workers and farmers to businesspeople alike.

“You name it, I have probably seen it,” he explained. We offer an up-to-date, evidence-based approach to care in our office. Everyone who walks in will receive the best care possible based on their individual needs.”

Dr. Goodpaster is pictured in his office at 2835 South Highway 27, Suite 338, Somerset, KY 42501, in Grand Central Place.

His personalized care is reflected in his hours. He’s open from 9 a.m. to Noon and then 3-6 p.m., allowing him to remain open later for those working various shifts.

He has a soft spot for athletes, having participated in sports all his life.

“I worked as a student athletic trainer at Morehead State University throughout college,” he added. “I have treated many sports injuries, and working for five years in a family practice in Bowling Green allowed me access to many individuals in the general public.”

Goodpaster is ready to go to work in Somerset and become an active member of the community.

“My experience in the area has been great. Somerset is a kind and accepting community; we have experienced that since day one. There is a ton of local support here, which is great,” he added.

Supporting other local businesses is essential to Goodpaster.

“We will always support local businesses throughout the community and know that they will support us as well, based on our experiences so far,” he said. We utilized local businesses such as SKED, Wildcat Builders, Signarama and American Computer Works to get our business started. It has been a great experience working with all of them. We cannot wait to serve the community, and I could not be happier to be here.”

SKED aided Goodpaster in its office search and business financing. He says the staff helped him accomplish his dream of owning a business.

“Simply put, without SKED, I would not be where I am at this point. They have helped my goals and dreams become a reality. From day one, I felt like a priority and understood that they were here to help me and my business every step of the way.”

“I would not have been able to accomplish what I have accomplished thus far without SKED. Working with them has been a wonderful experience,” Goodpaster said. “I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and everyone serious about starting their own business. The people at SKED truly care about their clients.”

SKED Director of Lending Bob Burgess worked with Goodpaster to help him finance his new Somerset office.

“It was a pleasure to help Brandon open his practice here in Somerset. He comes from a very successful practice in Bowling Green. With his history and experience, I know he will do well serving Somerset and the surrounding counties,” Burgess said. His expertise with sports injuries, in particular, will significantly benefit anyone needing this medical treatment.”

“ProActive Spine Care is very excited and honored to serve the community of Somerset and surrounding communities. We are here to provide the best service possible to anyone needing chiropractic care,” Goodpaster said. “Choosing Somerset was easy for us, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve and support the community for years to come.”
