SKED Training Staff Presents AI Training to Paintsville Chamber

May 22, 2026

PAINTSVILLE, KY – The Paintsville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping its members learn about Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on small businesses.

Amanda Kelly is SKED’s Small Business Training Director.

The chamber partnered with SKED’s Small Business Training professionals, Paintsville Tourism, and Appalachian Wireless to present a free, two-hour training course on the topic this month. This is one of a series of informational courses the chamber is providing its members.

SKED staff Amanda Kelly and Jarrod Withers led “Unlocking AI for Business Success,” a training on Generative Artificial Intelligence for small businesses.

The Be Boss Online in-depth course provided the 13 participating businesses with hands-on resources and guidance, leading attendees to report increased confidence in identifying useful AI tools. Several attendees indicated they started implementing prompt-writing best practices and using performance-tracking worksheets following the event.

Judy Williams Daniel, co-executive director of the Paintsville/Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, organized the training to help business leaders understand AI and its benefits for current use and future growth.

“Investing time into learning about AI is no longer about the future; it’s about thriving in the present,” said Daniel. “This training, provided by SKED, equipped our chamber members with knowledge of practical, accessible tools to eliminate repetitive tasks, optimize their operations, and free up valuable time to focus on what they do best – growing their businesses.”

Thirteen chamber members participated in the training.

Small Business Training Director Amanda Kelly says the training is part of SKED’s Be Boss Online toolkit, which can give leaders in Southern and Eastern Kentucky a leg up on the competition.

“We want the businesses we serve to feel empowered, not intimidated, by artificial intelligence,” Kelly said. “These tools are becoming part of everyday business operations, and we’re committed to making sure our region’s entrepreneurs have access to the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.”
