Faith Speaks joins the Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation as its new Communications Director, effective September 16.
Previously the Director of Marketing and Communications at Forcht Media, Speaks brings hands-on experience in brand design and communications for businesses and organizations statewide.
In her new role, Speaks will lead SKED’s communications through the organization’s success stories and relevant news, as well as manage the organization’s social media, website, and marketing materials.
“I am excited to join SKED after seeing the impact they have on economic development in our region. Being a part of SKED’s mission to promote small business ownership and economic development is truly an honor, and I am eager to get to work,” Speaks said.
SKED Executive Director Brett Traver said Speaks is a good addition to the staff.
“We are pleased to have Faith join staff as our new communications director,” Traver said. “Her experience and expertise will help our organization continue to expand its services to the region and its residents.”
Speaks has worked with many small businesses and organizations in the SKED service area, providing graphic design and branding services across industries including retail, municipalities, tourism, and nonprofits. In her former role, Speaks also led internal marketing efforts, including Forcht Media’s company rebrand.
Speaks is a native of Somerset, Kentucky, and a graduate of Somerset Community College’s Visual Communications and Multimedia program.
