PAINTSVILLE, KY – Members of The Kiwanis Club of Paintsville, Kentucky, learned how artificial intelligence can affect their businesses and everyday lives at the club’s June meeting.
SKED Small Business Training Specialist Jarrod Withers presented a training session titled “Unlocking AI for Business Success” on Generative Artificial Intelligence for small businesses.
The Kiwanis Club of Paintsville met at the city’s recreational center for the training. Some 20 club members and two guests participated in the free training.
“SKED’s presentation and information on the use of AI in the business world were so useful,” said Kiwanis Club Secretary Shauna Patton. “Our members were very impressed and interested in the presentation Jarrod provided.”
The Bee Boss Online in-depth course provides participating businesses with hands-on resources and guidance, with attendees reporting increased confidence in identifying useful AI tools. Attendees are encouraged to implement prompt-writing best practices and use performance-tracking worksheets following the event.
“As a very active community civic organization, our club is always looking for interesting and innovative people and/or companies to be our guest presenters,” Patton said. “We enjoy learning, and it helps our club members know ways that we can make a positive difference in the community. Our two main goals are children and the community. We try to keep our focus on our goals. And to serve children and our community in the best and most productive ways we can.”
Withers says the training is part of SKED’s toolkit and can give leaders in Southern and Eastern Kentucky an edge in marketing.
“It’s challenging to stay in the know with how quickly technology evolves, so it was a great experience sharing information about how to make use of AI as a small business,” Withers said.
